Germantown Academy, located in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, is seeking qualified, experienced candidates for a full-time position of Upper School Spanish Teacher, beginning August, 2021. This is a 10-month position which offers an excellent array of benefits and a highly competitive salary. The Academy, founded in 1759, is a non-sectarian, coeducational, college preparatory school of more than 1,100 students in Grades PK-12, located in the northwest suburbs of Philadelphia on a campus of 126 acres.

Upper School Spanish Teacher

  • Master’s Degree/MEd or PhD in Spanish (required)

  • Native Spanish proficiency

  • Experience running an Exchange Program (required)

  • Minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the high school level (required)

  • Ability to teach a range of Spanish classes, from Spanish 1 through AP Spanish Language/Literature

  • Ability to teach a second modern language preferred, even if at the introductory level

  • Ability to serve as an Advisor to 8-10 Upper School students

  • Experience with Language Lab Technology preferred

  • Experience leading Upper School life in meaningful ways outside the classroom (coaching, leading extracurriculars, etc.) (required)
